D O R A E M O N

DeepaRaya

That little boy smiled at me and said: “Happy Deepavali to you, too.”
It was so sweet and polite of him to return my wishes. But there was just one little “problem” and I do not think any part of me looks like one that celebrate Deepavali at all.
However, instead of correcting him, I decided to just let it be. In fact, I wished that he, and all our children, would remain colour blind on ethnicity.
It was like a breath of fresh air in the midst of all the recent controversies pertaining to the Malays not given enough opportunities in Penang, the Chinese being marginalised in Malaysia and the argument on bumiputra equity in the country.
I look forward to the day when we can all fight for the interest of our nation instead of the interest of our own community, work harder on increasing the size of our economic cake instead of fighting for a bigger share of the same old cake.
I look forward to the day when the first chapter of our Year One text book tells our children that we are all Malaysians instead of over-emphasising Orang Melayu, Cina, India dan lain lain.
I'm a firm believer of those who love this country do share my wish and vision.
If you do, let's begin with our children (Though I may not have one). BE sure they remain colour blind to our ethnic origins. Meanwhile, I wish all Malaysians “Selamat Hari Raya and Happy Deepavali”

I went to this old temple in Chinatown with my mum.I took this picture at the back portion of that temple which had an air-well. I was surprised when I first looked at this picture. It has a really interesting setting, almost like the all mighty ONE that above us is answering our prayer. Hope you'll enjoy!

Last Time I Saw Mother
I took this novel out from my bookshelf last week and read it again. Not particularly like this novel but it'd remind me of a younger self as I bought this novel at the Brisbane International Airport on 23 May 1996. WHY I bought this book? Because it looks glamourous reading a THICK book during the flight and I always, really thought so when I was so much younger then. HAHA.. ABOUT THIS BOOK
"AN OFTEN LYRICAL AND ALWAYS TOUGH-MINDED DEBUT . . . Provides rare insight into the three cultures--Spanish, Chinese, and Filipino--that coexist in the Philippines."
--The New York Times Book Review
Caridad's mother never writes. So when a letter arrives for her in Sydney from Manila, Caridad doesn't even recognize her mother's handwriting. There is more distance than just miles between the two women. And that is why Caridad is called home. Her mother needs to talk. And to reveal a secret that has been weighing heavily on her for years. As Caridad hears at last the unspoken stories, and the never forgotten tragedy of the war years, she will learn a startling truth that will change her life forever. For Caridad is not who she thinks she is. . . ."Beautifully written . . . Reading each chapter is like having a conversation with a close friend."
"A sensitive . . . portrait of a family of Filipina women . . . The novel illuminates much modern Philippine history."

Birthday Stories
Browse through the Headlines on The People's Paper is Bloggers beware, PM: Those who spread untruths on the Net will be detained.
"Happy Birthday 2 u. HaHaHa, welcome 2 40."
"Your SMS really makes my day though it's a gloomy day out there. I have a GOOD laugh. TQ :-)"

在TIMES SQUARE看了一部电影,THE LAKE HOUSE。
Turn to Page 5 and found this,
Yesterday it was my birthday.
I hung one more year on the line.
I should be depressed.
My life's a mess.
But I'm having a good time.
I've been loving and loving and loving.
I'm exhausted from loving so well
I should go to bed.
But a voice in my head says,
"ah, what the hell."
By Paul Simon
Happy Birthday? Nope. It was my birthday yesterday, but not particularly happy, just normal.

WHO??

Sound Glamourous, HUH?
。。有一朋友說, hey, everyday is a BIRTHDAY if you want to, isn't it a CELEBRATING LIFE。 OH yes, a CELEBRATING LIFE。
Anyway, I no longer make a list of BIRTHDAY resolutions。 I do, however, give a serious thought of how should I carry on from where I stand now。
This too will pass。
OYAJI(大叔), GANBARE(加油)。。。

PS, I Love You.
L Love You讀後感言。
